Advait Sanctuary NPC - a non-profit company was an inspiration that grew from the social responsibility leg of Shivdev Training Academy. Shivdev since inception in 2010 has done ongoing charity programs for hospitals, schools and individuals and thus on the 10th Anniversary in 2020, the ideology to create a permanent formal structure in the form of an NPC became reality.
Advait Sanctuary addresses the challenges of cultural diversity, language barriers, and systemic issues affecting women’s mental and physical health. With South Africa’s multilingual landscape, we use English as the primary medium and engage interpreters when necessary to bridge language gaps, ensuring inclusivity.
In Benoni, Gauteng, our community faces challenges like unemployment, low self-esteem, gender-based violence, and instability caused by economic hardships, unreliable electricity, and water access. These factors significantly impact women’s mental and physical well-being.
To empower women, we offer tools and techniques focused on mindset shifts, resilience, and coping strategies to navigate the uncertainties of their environment. Through workshops, events, and coaching sessions, we inspire women to embrace personal growth and wellness.
Our initiatives, such as Coffee & Wellness, combine practical training with supportive community engagement. Testimonials reflect the transformative impact of these efforts. A participant shared, “The motivation and techniques given are so helpful in these challenging times… helping find joy in life again.” Another attendee of a Women’s Day event noted, “I felt inspired and motivated by the incredible women around me… and support [Meena’s] mission to assist women in their well-being.”
By fostering connections, promoting self-care, and addressing individual needs, Advait Sanctuary has empowered women to overcome adversity, regain self-confidence, and improve their mental health. These efforts demonstrate the organization’s unwavering commitment to uplifting women and creating lasting change.
